I have been fortunate to win numerous International wedding photography awards and have photographed 500+ weddings. Prior to my wedding photography I was a news and sports photojournalist.
I am based in Corrales, NM, a northern suburb of Albuquerque. I charge NO travel fees for weddings in New Mexico and Colorado. I do request overnight accommodations the night before the wedding and the night of the wedding where the location is more than 150 miles from Albuquerque for New Mexico weddings and more than 150 miles from Denver for Colorado weddings.
I have been a full-time professional wedding photographer since 2002. I have photographed 500+ weddings as main photographer. Prior to that I was a news and sports photojournalist.
I primarily shoot with a photojournalistic style seeking artistic creativity in my shots. I use very little on-camera flash and I encourage my couples to ignore me most of the day and just focus on each other. When shooting formals and special bridal couple portraiture I become more directive in setting up shots. I traditionally convert 25% of my edited photos to B&W images following the wedding.
I currently charge $100/hour. which includes editing all your images, converting about 25% to archival B&W and posting the final edited images on a private, password protected web-gallery for viewing and ordering.
I am happy to Skype or meet at a public place to visit about your wedding plans. Also, I'm always eager to show off some of my award winning wedding albums if we meet up.
I'm a veteran professional photojournalist. I have photographed four US presidents. I have photographed for several major newspapers including the Chicago Tribune. I was a recognized national sports magazine photographer in the late 90s photographing the NFL, NHL, NBA, MLB college sports and lots of national soccer, particularly the US Women's team.
Wedding photography is a physical job. I was recently challenged by photographing a 5 day wedding in Hyderabad, India where the 1st four days I shot from 8am to midnight and the last day from 8am to 4am the following day. Every evening I had to download my digital cards for the day and recharge all my batteries. I could not have done this without reaching back on my experience of running 12 marathons in my life and my daily jogging today. I'm very blessed with good health.
