Jos and Tree are a husband/wife team who believes in the magic of hustle and patience. Their adventurous documentary wedding photography style has taken them all over the world. Their photography approach is moment-driven and incorporates a keen eye toward creative composition and dramatic light. Fueled with a passion to learn and grow they are constantly taking photography to the next level. They teach EVOLVE workshops, mentor photographers, study with the best of the best, are conference speakers, contest judges, are extensively published, and have won over 100+ international awards.

Where are you located? Do you charge a travel fee for weddings not in your location?

Most destination wedding couples use frequent flier miles to get us to their wedding or a guest gifts the couple our flights. We are also excellent researchers who find great deals. We are also not fussy. :)

How long have you been in business? How many weddings have you photographed as the main photographer?

We've photographed over 400+ weddings and been in the business since 2004.

Describe your "style" of wedding photography.

Our keen eyes are on the constant search for creative composition, lighting, and emotion that reflect the heart of the human spirit. A big part of our effort is to simply allow you to experience your wedding day as it naturally unfolds while we creatively document the emotions and actions without you knowing we are there. We also pour huge amounts of of passion into capturing creative portraits of you when the time is right. We invite you to connect in the best light possible while we fully explore creative angles, dynamic lines, shadows, shapes, reflections with unusual and experimental ideas. We believe this style tells a story and stands the test of time. You will want to make albums and hang these works of art in your home. This style is an investment and will be valued for the rest of your lives.

What's the typical wedding coverage package that you offer? What is the price?

Your engagement and wedding is an extraordinary time in your life. We understand you have unique needs. Once we know more we would be happy to send you a custom proposal.

Do you have a studio where we can meet in-person?

Yes we have a lovely studio at the Left Bank Project in the heart of Portland. We are happy to video call with you too.

What are your professional degrees, credentials, affiliations? Have you taken any recent educational workshops or classes?

Jos studied communication and fine art at the University of Oregon. This was the beginning of connecting people with stories and photography was his life long passion. Jos is also a member of ISPWP, WPPI, and is a conference speakers with his wife Tree. Recent conferences: Mystic Seminars 2017, WPPI and TWO MANN alumni reunion. They are MagMod and SLR Lounge Educational Off Camera Flash Ambassadors. Together they now facilitate their EVOLVE workshops for professional wedding photographers.

Is there anything else you'd like to share about yourself?

Every time we commit to shooting a wedding we simply dive in deep into the entire experience. We become one with all of the guests and ebb and flow with every move and feeling we see. “Going all in” is really the only way we feel we can truly tell the full story.
