I'm Becky, a documentary family photographer based in Bedfordshire, working across the South East.
My work centres on real family life - the connections, the chaos, the quiet moments, and the way people relate to each other when nothing is being performed for the camera. I'm drawn to honesty over perfection, and to photographs that feel like lived experience rather than a version of family life tidied up for show.
I take an observational approach, allowing things to unfold naturally rather than directing or posing. Children don't need to be managed into moments - they already have their own rhythm - and my role is simply to pay attention and respond to what's happening. The most meaningful images tend to come from patience, trust, and giving families the space to be themselves.
Before photography, I worked in animal welfare. That background taught me to read behaviour carefully, to work calmly in unpredictable situations, and to understand when stepping back is just as important as stepping in. Those instincts translate directly into how I photograph families, particularly with children - quietly, respectfully, and without pressure.
