Family is colorful and individual. Every childhood is different and so is showing and receiving love. I believe in the beauty of differences, the beauty of daily struggles, and the need to embrace and appreciate it.
For so long, media and society just showed the funny and happy smiling family. Reading books, cuddling with mama, receiving presents, having healthy meals ... and they still do. But: documentary family photography is a game changer. There are so many other moments ... quiet moments that show love, trust and family ties. Even if nobody is smiling. Society needs to feel that again. That these moments are as precious as laughing, eating ice cream und jumping. That's why I love this way of photography.
