Barberstown Castle
Barberstown Castle is a four-star country house and historic 13th century castle located in Straffan, County Kildare, Ireland. It is easily accessible from Dublin and the Leinster region, and is centrally located between four major motorway links in the heart of Ireland's Ancient East. The castle is a member of Ireland's Blue Book and the Historic Hotels of Europe.
It was originally a small guesthouse that opened in 1971 and has since been expanded to a 55-bedroom hotel, while still maintaining its elegant Victorian and Elizabethan design. The castle was once the home of musician Eric Clapton and was visited by famous rockstars who played music in the Green Room and Castle Keep. Today, the castle is privately owned and managed and offers a range of special occasions and events, including leisure breaks, exclusive weddings, gala dinners in the 16th century banquet hall, conference events, corporate groups, private dining, and parties in the medieval Castle Keep and Irish pub. Guests can also enjoy the castle's spacious bedrooms, award-winning dining, and warm Irish welcome. Website
