As a documentary wedding photographer in Greece, my goal is to capture the authentic essence of each couple’s unique love story. My approach is rooted in the beauty of candid moments, genuine emotions, and the timeless backdrop of this stunning country. From the historic ruins of Athens to the serene beaches of the Greek islands, I strive to document the day as it unfolds naturally, creating a visual narrative that is both intimate and compelling.

Every wedding is a unique celebration, and I aim to blend into the background, allowing events to flow organically while I capture the laughter, tears, and everything in between. My style is unobtrusive and relaxed, focusing on the interactions and emotions that make each wedding special. In my work, I’m inspired by the rich history and vibrant culture of Greece, using its breathtaking landscapes and architecture to frame the love and joy of each couple. Whether it’s a sun-drenched ceremony on a cliffside in Santorini or a rustic wedding in a traditional village, I aim to preserve these moments in a way that is both beautiful and meaningful.

I am John Makris, a wedding photographer from Greece with over a decade of experience capturing the beauty and romance of couples' most cherished moments. It's been a privilege to witness and preserve countless heartfelt moments, and I'm deeply dedicated to creating timeless memories. In addition to my photography work, I find immense joy in sharing my knowledge and empowering aspiring photographers through workshops, webinars, and one-on-one mentoring. What makes my photography journey even more special is sharing it with my beloved wife, Kathreen, a talented photographer and photo editor. Together, we create a dynamic and passionate team, capturing weddings with a shared vision and a deep appreciation for the love and connections we encounter. I am truly honored to hold prestigious roles as a Sony Alpha Imaging Creator, Godox Ambassador in Greece, and a Fundy Storyteller, and I'm privileged to serve as a judge in esteemed international photography competitions, solidifying my commitment to the art and craft of photography.

I love "story telling". I want my photos to be a realistic representation (maybe with a touch of romanticism) of real, affecting stories and honest emotions- I want to make such moments live forever. Concerning the technical part, I believe that realistic colors and no exaggerations in the editing phase is what matches my philosophy the best.

Specializing in photography of wedding, christening or family portraits shooting, our team is now consisted of 4 highly qualified members, distinguished for its professionalism and consistency.

I try to be present when moments are happening and more than that, I wish to capture the ones with the special meaning. Vagelis Giotopoulos was born in 1965 and has worked as a photographer since 1983.
He's an internationally awarded wedding photographer based in Greece. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Focus School of Arts in Athens, Greece.

He is the current co-owner of V&A Giotopoulos Studio Photography, owning one studio in West Greece.
He is the only Fellowship photographer in Greece (FSWPP).
