Mait has won numerous awards from various photo competitions. In 2015, NIKON named one of his Iceland wedding stories as TOP35 wedding stories in the world, in a photo contest "I am wedding storyteller". Junebugweddings has named many of his engagement and wedding images one of the best in the world throughout recent years. In 2014, he also won the Grand Prix with his reportage photo "Between" from the international Baltic Portrait and Wedding competition.
