My goal is to capture your offbeat, wonderfully unique wedding no matter where in the world-or HOW in the world-you're celebrating. As a photojournalist who fancies plenty of creativity mixed with emotional candids, I'm able to deliver one-of-a-kind shots. My clients lean toward the nontraditional: Quirky, joyful, adventure-driven celebrations and photographs that make you look twice. And if you're not quite sure what you want to do for your wedding yet, I have dozens of ideas up my sleeve. Together, we'll brainstorm something that's absolutely magical.
I'm based in both New York and California, and work across the U.S. and worldwide. When not photographing engagements, weddings, and elopements, I work as a travel and humanitarian photographer in remote parts of the globe. I've worked on every continent except Antarctica, and rarely say no to an adventure. Some of my favorite hobbies include scuba diving, camping, cliff jumping, and hiking-many of which often make their way into my clients' photos, especially when we share common travel interests. After living in several different countries and photographing adventurous couples in dozens of parts of the world, I know there are still many adventures yet to come! So let's collaborate and capture something that's completely and utterly you.
I am located in both New York and California. With homes on both coasts, I’m able to serve New York both in the city and upstate (Hudson Valley), while in California I work frequently in the Bay Area, LA, and Yosemite. For destination weddings outside of my main NY and CA bases, I charge a travel fee.
I’ve been a professional photographer for more than a decade (I started by working for the Food Network and various nonprofits), and have been a wedding photographer for seven years. In that time, I’ve photographed 150+ weddings in 20 different states and several different countries.
Creative photojournalism is the best way to describe my style. My eye is drawn to vibrant, true-to-life colors and the occasional black-and-white moment. I focus on incredible reactions, genuine emotions, and unique perspectives while also capturing creative portraits. Using my bag of photo tricks and innovation background—along with ideas we’ve brainstormed—we use our time on your wedding day to capture portraits that no one else would (or could!) have. Many of my clients even opt to do a creative adventure session so that we have extra time for unique, location-driven shots. No matter what, all of my couples get one-of-a-kind photos that capture their personality, venue, and fun side.
My elopements start at $1400, and typical wedding packages average $3800. I photograph celebrations ranging from 2 hours to 5 days, with 10 hours being the most common. Since many of my destination elopements and extended celebrations don’t fit into traditional package offerings, we can chat on the phone or through email to create a custom package based on your hours and needs.
Of course I use Skype! I meet with most of my couples using Zoom, Skype, WhatsApp, phone, or the occasional carrier pigeon. If you’re nearby in New York or California, I’m happy to meet in person as well!
The moment we think we know everything is the moment we stop being creative, so I always aim to learn and try something new. I lead and take workshops yearly, collaborate with other photographers and designers several times every year, and constantly try out new techniques that challenge my repertoire.
I’m a huge fan of outdoor adventure and spontaneous randomness, so if you enjoy cliff jumping, camping, hiking, SCUBA diving, riding roller coasters, fishing, waterfall hunting, eating street food, and just about anything else, we’ll get along just fine.
Dream celebrations I’d absolutely love to capture? A carnival wedding. An engagement session with aerialists. Anything with kittens. An adventure session among icebergs. A hang gliding elopement. Basically anything wacky and different!
