I grew up in a small town outside of Vancouver, Canada. I live with my husband, two little kids, French bulldog, and our tiger cat in Edmonton, Canada. As a kid, I rode my bike around my cul-de-sac wearing a hand-me-down wedding veil. I wish my parents had made a photo of me and my veil. In 2014 I earned a PhD in Public Health from the University of Alberta, Canada. I loved hanging out with my study participants and learning their stories. I used a research method called ethnography, a method I also fell in love with. I have since brought my love for ethnography and photography together to create my documentary family photography business. I now make photos like the wedding veil photo with families. I photograph, without direction, to make photos with families which show the funny and tender moments of life.
