Positive Feedback
While we are working hard to learn and improve our skills as wedding photographers, sometimes we just have to take a moment and celebrate what we're doing right. So here are some high-fives and positive reinforcements to go along with all the other tough learnings.
Keep working it!
Congratulations on successfully capturing the emotion on the couple's faces in this recessional. The couple is lit well with natural light and stands out from the background of the dark green really well without any distractions from behind their heads. And lastly, the photo's composition with the couple very prominent right in the middle and a trail of people to the left makes the photo easy to understand and enjoy.
Great light coming from the back to illuminate the stars of the photo - the bride and her friend. The setting is dark which shows off the subjects even more.
A great place to take photos! The window light coming in is awesome. It's great to wait until the child's face is into the light so that we can see his expression while he is enjoying his game.
Great action! Fun! We can really feel the energy of this couple in tropical paradise.
The red light is an interesting and bold choice to add visual excitement to the photo. Great angle from below and really close the subject. Another element that really works in this photo is the backlit drops of water.
This photo really reveals the emotion of the people. The composition is well done to keep the subjects big in the frame so we can see them clearly.
Matching patterns! By using a drone, the photographer shows us the similarity of the waves and the bride's dress. It's a visual treat! Oh, nice symmetrical composition too.
Good use of light to show the couple while keeping the hikers in silhouette. The composition is straight and clear. Awesome blue sky as the background.
This photo has a nice airy feel. We can almost sense the light wind (her hair, the leaves) and what is to come on this wonderful day.
Simple, classic - it works to show the couple enjoying each other. The light on their faces is clean to show them at their best.
There's a little bit of mystery in this photo that makes us linger. Why is she running? What is she running to? Why no shoes? It's a story-telling photo that makes us want to know more of the story.
The symmetry of the two similar kids on either side of the man at the table is well done. Our eyes see him at first and then we start to peel back and take in more of the photo. This layering works!
Play! Have fun! Let the dress fly! Bravo to the photographer for going out into the tough harsh sun and working hard for the couple
Way to go in keeping the dance floor dark and letting the colors come out. Nice capture of the movement of the arms.
Big laughs are always welcomed! This photo has an interesting symmetrical composition with the hands coming in from the top and the person coming up from the bottom.
Catching moments is one of our most important duties as wedding photographers. This is a moment that the family might want toto keep and savor later so good job keeping an eye on what's going on and making these photos for them. All the faces really contribute to this story.
That light is great! What a magical time to go out and make couples photos. Good placement of the couple so they can be part of the scene without blocking too much of the important background. Still looking at the light - it's lovely.
There are a few elements that really works in this photo - the groom's face, the body language of the couple, the composition of horizontal arms juxtaposed with the vertical banners. All these are good things to enjoy about this photo.
Yes, let our couples be real! Great moment of fun that's shown through amazing faces. All five faces are adding to the fun!
Let them be them! And then place them in a visually clean place with simple background. Presto! A wonderful photo for the couple to start their journey together.
Get close. Show us who they are. Sometimes simple photos of couples together can add to the photo collection of the wedding.
We always say that "good photographers keep an eye on everyone at the wedding". Sometimes they make for cute moments that help tell the story of the wedding. Good job getting close to this little person and telling their story with a photograph.
Good framing of the action swirling around the bride as she tends to a child. The use of BW in this photo eliminates the distractions and brings us right into the scene.
We just have a sense that this couple really connected with the photographer (you). So great job in putting your couple at ease and letting them be themselves and have fun during the photo session. Good airy light also.
This setting is quite distinctive! The couple fits in the space very well while immersed in the only bit of color in the photo. That color helps to serve as a point of entry for us to see them right away before we pull back and see the entire interesting background.
The photo of friendship and support shows another kind of love at weddings. The groom stands out with a great face expression that clearly reveals who he is.
Superb light and great setting for this portrait of the bride. Keeping it simple is key here.
This performance at this reception is interesting to us and to the guests. Good work putting the performer in the front and layering the people in the back.
It's good to find the time to make details photo of the couple's rings (and other things) that are meaningful to them to give them a complete collection of wedding photos. Good job using the light to highlight what you want to show and making everything else black.
Very artistic light and feeling! We can say that again: the light coming from the left to show their faces is wonderful plus it also gives details in the dress. Overall, a wonderful image to be appreciated as an artistic photo as well as a wedding photo.
Thanks for this closer look at nature's loveliness. Sometimes we need to be reminded that we share the Earth with others too.
Photograph everything, right? Stay with our couple and capture these memories for them. Kudos for keeping an eye out for photos that are a bit outside of the normal wedding day routines.
Getting a good starry night photos with the couple and a waterfall can be a difficult task to pull off. It takes a lot of work to get here to show everything.
Fun fun fun! What a cool backdrop for a photo. It looks like the couple's personality matches the fun background.
Haha - what a moment that we don't usually see in wedding photos! Keep looking for unique moments.
The BW toning and vignetting of this photo of connection gives it a artistic, timeless feel.
Juxtaposition of elegance in a non-elegant setting - we get you! Good job in accomplishing this kind of imagery.
Good framing to make us see the bride first and then pull back to see the groom too. Good job in keeping the groom's details out of focus but still recognizable. This is a very effective way to show this scene.
